by Alissa Fast Working With Grungeboard

Grungeboard. Have you heard of it? If you haven't or you have and just haven't jumped in to play, now is the time and the Booya Girls have created some awesome inspiration to help you along the way. Before we get to the inspiration, what is Grungeboard? It's a pliable chipboard, so to speak. I think it smells like cheap shoes. J It's a little dimensional  and works like chipboard. You can do the same things with Grungeboard as chipboard and a few more things too. Because it is pliable, you can make a book with it, or you can hinge a book with it. I have a friend who made a book out of small canvases and hinged it with Grungeboard! Yo u can't do that with chipboard, now can you?

Let's see what the girls did with it.

Amanda used the Tim Holtz Distressed Inks, and added a touch of bling to the Grungeboard. She also used Tombo Mono Adhesive to glue on. She didn't heavily ink it so you could see the design on the Grungeboard. Grungeboard comes in a few different textures and also flat. You can also texturize it yourself with the hammers Tim invented to go along with the Grungeboard. I love this page, Amanda!
Chrys ended up painting hers and layering it under her title. The thickness of the Grungeboard makes it perfect for layering and still keeping your project from being too thick for your albums. Notice how Chrys used a different texture than Amanda? Gorgeous page, Chrys!
Lacintha inked her Grungeboard too on her gorgeous page. Again, a different texture. Also notice the subtle sparkle of the Stickles glitter glue used to emphasize the dots. So pretty!
Anne's page is just so cool! She painted, then inked and then sewed the Grungeboard to the paper! Grungeboard is easier to sew than chipboard and what an awesome way to adhere it to your page!
Lastly, I cut my Grungeboard out on the diecut machines at my LSS and make the trees. Then I painted them and added Stickles glitter glue to make them sparkle like a tree in the winter. It's hard to see in my photo, but the striped Grungeboard looks just like wood grain.

So, I can't wait to see what you all make with your Grungeboard. I know once you try it, you will be addicted like us!
