Mini Books
Mini Books. I love mini books. If it comes down to it, I'd rather make a mini book over a page layout any day. They are so fun to create for an event where you have taken loads of photos or as a gift or just for fun. Minis give you loads of room to journal or include photos. For those of you that might think minis take a lot of time, some of the Booya Girls have created some amazing books in little to no time. You just need a system and a single design you can repeat over and over again.

My standard design is a 2 page spread with one of the pages being the photo and the other page including a journal block and some sort of embellishment. I also often switch the journal block for a title and journaling surrounding it.

Let's see what the Booyas created this month.

My book is a few of my favorite photos from last winter all pulled together into a little mini. It's actually 5x7 photos with cardstock adhered to the back of each page for the journal page. I added digital frames to my photos before I had them printed up at costco. I think it just adds a little to the page without adding any weight. the journal page has a stamped image with a stamped journal bok layered over it and then a little punched image layered over that. The punch could also be replace by another stamped image cut out or a pretty flower or button. Whatever embellishment you like will work. My book took about an hour to put together after I had my supplies gathered.

Cyndi created a fun travel mini with the fun travel line by Love, Elsie. She used a license plate album and used my standard design. a 4x6 photo page and a cardstock page with journaling and embellishements. Cyndi's album took just a couple hours to put together and turned out so cute!

Amanda created a family book.  I love that she changed up the standard design by putting a single photo on one page of her spread, but using pretty patterned papers as her photos mats, and a single definition of each member of her family. Amanda's book took only about 30 mins once she had the idea and supplies gathered. What a great idea for a grandma gift with photos of each of her grandkids.

Maegan's book is a book celebrating one of her daughter's birthdays. This book has tons of photos and still only took her about 6 hours to create. Each spread is the same design mirrored. Maegan created all of the pages before adding to the chipboard book. She saved more time by not covering the chipboard pages with paper or paint and i love the look. The raw chipboard is so cool.

Now, grab those photos, some paper and a few stamps and embellishments and you will have a beatuiful mini book created in no time. I can't wait to see them all in the gallery!
