by Anne Montgomery Ribbon (Mar. 08)
Ribbons have a tendency to be one of those products that we collect with intensity, but then become overwhelmed at the sight of that brightly tangled pile on our scrap table. As with so many other goodies out there, there are countless different ways you can use up your stash, and add a splash of color to any layout, card, or project Check out the awesome ways the Booya girls showcased this simple little embellishment.
Debbie livened up the border in her stunning page by weaving her ribbon through eyelets to create a repetitive criss-cross pattern AND used a strip of ribbon to create a “stem” for her chipboard flower.
Amanda made this fabulous set of cards using coordinating products and shows off the different ways ribbon can be used to add that special little touch to a card for a friend or loved one. She also used a few different ways of attaching her ribbon, using buttons, staples, and eyelets.
Summer’s amazingly simple page just pops with the addition of the ribbon border separating the pictures of her daughter from the journaling. She also incorporated a die-cut border to show that ribbons can be mixed with other product to complete the look you’re going for!
Lacintha highlights this gorgeous photo of her little one using a mix of textiles and manufacturers. She arranged the ribbons artfully around her photo in a way that draws the eye straight to her little sweetheart
Chrys chose elegant printed twill to create little “leaves” to enhance the gorgeous embroidered flowers on her page. She demonstrates that a little bit of ribbon can make a big difference on a page!
I played off of my title to create a ribbon “flower” layered on a Heidi Swapp floral to add a punch of color and dimension to my page. The folded “petals” are held together with a button and add a fun touch to this page about my daughter. Similar to Summer’s page, I also used a bold ribbon to separate the photo from the title to create balance.

Using the inspiration from our talented Booya girls, untangle that pile, dig in and play around with all of the different ways you can use ribbons!
