Multi-Photo Layouts

by Debbie Standard

There seems to be growing trend to using multi photos on layouts. It allows you to use more of the photos you took of an event onto your page. There are multitudes of different ways you can do this. We wanted to show you a variety of ways you can incorporate numerous photos on a single page layout without the layout looking busy. That’s the hardest trick – you want to keep the style of a single photo layout but use more of your photos.

Kim printed her photos out on one 8 X 11 sheet with no borders. Then to break it up she used ribbon and patterned paper and a target embellishment. She used the background sheet to journal about her photos, added a little touch here and a little touch there and created this awesome page.

Amanda had so many of her precious photos lost in a computer disaster but had several photos of the same size. She displayed them in a random pattern down the side of her page, mixed embellishments throughout them to keep interest high and then used the other side of her page for journaling and her title! Just an adorable page full of cute photos and by using smaller photos doesn’t look in any way busy.

Shawna used four photos and overlapped them in a random pattern over her layered paper strips drawing the focus to the center of the pictures with a large embellishment. She kept her cardstock page a solid color but added interest to it by embossing it. It allowed her to get four pictures of this one photo shoot on the same page and came out adorable.

Maegan used random sized photos designed to blend into an 8 X 12 pattern all separated by white strips. She used a single strip of patterned paper along one side of her photo block and then added interest to the larger side of the photo block with different sheets of patterned paper. To separate the photos and pull it all together she created a line of colored buttons that pulled all the colors together. Simply fabulous page!

For the first of my pages I used several different size photos as well as a photo strip and overlapped some of them, used circles to pull them together and then added a small circle photo. To bring the focus to the center of the page and tie them all together, I used a large embellishment.
I also wanted to show how you can use hidden photos when you just have too many cute pictures to choose from, don’t want to go to a two-pager (which you know I LOVE to do). So I did this layout to show one way you can hide your photos and use more of those cute pictures you take. The photo strip along the bottom actually flips up and shows four more photos underneath. Using string and eyelets I tied it down so that it can be easily opened to reveal the hidden strip.
