Being the sewing enthusiast that I am it just seemed like a matter of time before I combined my scrapping craft with my sewing craft. After sewing on layouts for awhile I was looking at my daughter's quilts that she had made and thought why not? So I googled quilt patterns and found some that I thought would make interesting layouts and used them as the theme for this article.
For my layout I used a pattern called "The Evening Star". Lots of stitching, both zig zag and straight stitching. The first card came from a pattern called simply "Coffee Cup." I just duplicated it, stitched it down and added a little stamping, rick rack and a flower. The last card was done based on a quilt called "Quilting Be". I laid out the background, then cut the star shapes and hand-stitched around them to outline them. After I was done I added the letter stickers and the cut out bird.

Maegan used her daughter's quilt to plan her layout. The patchwork pattern provided interesting frames around her sonogram photos. She added stitching around her squares to add that "quilt" look to the layout. Awesome job!

Chrys's layout used patchwork pieces of her patterned paper to build a beautiful cakelike frame for the photo of her Valentine's card from her husband. What a creative idea that just extended her cake making love into her page! Looks yummy enough to eat!

Cyndi did an absolutely adorable page using her little dog as the focus photo and framing her with a quilted patchwork pattern. She added some buttons and other little goodies to make it all just pop! Loving everyone's take on this article!

Anne did a sweet, sweet, page showing off that adorable new little baby and framed the entire page with patchwork squares. She inked the edges and turned them in alternating directions to give the photo a double frame. It really directs the eye right to the focus of the layout - that sweet baby. Love this!
