by Debbie Standard Sewing Scrapbook Style Vol. 2
For this sewing article we focused on sewing directly on your layout. I have sewed since I was in the sixth grade and have been anal about having my seams just perfect. I have also embroidered on fabric for my kids. Changing that focus to sewing on my pages allowed me to go outside the line and get more creative. Sewing on your pages means not making straight lines – just sewing – get creative – reach for something you haven’t done before.
Cyndi sewed her booklet together and stitched down her felt! Awesome little book!
Summer created stems for her flowers with zig-zag stitches, then zig-zagged her pin down and added more stitching across the title to her page! It just adds that extra zing to her page!
Maegan stitched in a checkerboard fashion to connect her circles and give emphasis to her title! Makes her layout just pop!
Kimber just went outside of the lines and just sewed away making an awesome emphasis to the emotions her son was experiencing on this ride! Love this!
On my page I zig-zagged around some of my patterned paper and then used an irregular sewing line to outline my entire layout.
On the card I actually used an embroidery stitch to create the entire card from the stems to the sun rays to outlining the bird. I used a stamp for the bird, cut it out, and then turned it over and stitched around it. I used a flower from the pp and stitched around it as well.

Isn’t it awesome when we can pull two hobbies together and create something that is just so unique!
