Add Dimension to Your Page with Glitter
When we found out with our first baby that we were having a girl, my husband exclaimed in a bit of a deflated tone, "Oh great. Ponies and glitter." I realized he had wanted footballs and dirt but a little girl it was, and sure enough, our home is filled with My Little Ponies, and tiny bits of glitter seem to materialize out of thin air for some reason. So its no wonder that lots of glitter finds its way onto my scrapbook pages!
I've heard lots of friends say that it is "too messy" so they skip the glitter - BUT there are ways to keep it neat while you work with this stuff that does indeed fly through the air with the greatest of ease.
For example, save the plastic clamshell packaging from your scrapping purchases (most Heidi Swapp items come packaged this way) and pour a bit of glitter into the "clam." I did this with my flowery layout, so I could simply dip my felt flowers in a bit of glue, then into the glitter and there was no mess! Then you can just close up the plastic packaging and keep the glitter for another project later.

Shawna used a very neat technique on her birdie page, she inked this adorable birdie and then used stickles with a paintbrush - what a gorgeous look! ( By the way, I predict she will also be invaded by the ponies and glitter)
|
Debbie created this darling page with stickles too, but she used hers for the flower centers and the birdies' eyes. Glitter doesn't have to overtake your whole page, a few accents as shown here really adds a special touch. She also painted the music note and glittered that- perfect!

Chrys also used stickles on her beautiful clear Pageframes album. Again, a totally different look with the same product- she added texture and dimention and sparkle to the flowers by drawing lines with the stickles.

Kim enhanced her Fancy Pants Chipboard with some Doodlebug Glitter. Using three colors of glitter gives the butterfly added interest. Heidi Swapp jewels were also used to accent the photo and the title.
