Make an Event of It (Sep. 08)

by Lacintha Naidoo

As scrapbookers become more aware of the quality of photographs they are taking, their scrapbooking focus shifts. Whereas once I used to haul out the boxes of pics of my daughter’s birthday parties, a family get-together or a special holiday, I now find myself scrapping only those near perfect photographs. You know the ones; where your subject is almost not looking at the camera, or the light is just perfect…we all have them and we’re pros at scrapping them.

But what becomes of the shoeboxes full of birthday and holiday photos? Well with this article, the Booya girls and I hope to inspire you to dig out the pics showcasing those special events, and get to scrapping them again.

I went with a few pictures from my daughter's birthday.I kept it to a single page spread (as is usually my style), but still managed to capture the essence of the occasion.

Debbie tackled a Halloween event, and kept it bold, bright and fun. This is a great way to make sure those special moments are out down on a page and never forgotten .

Cyndi treated us to a wonderful double pager, show-casing a family reunion. She added many pics which tell a story and document this special family event.

Anne highlighted something we tend to overlook, even though wedding photos are amongst the most special. She did a 2 pager as well and kept her design elegant and  fun.
