Shawna has the most innovative idea- when you have double sided letter and/or cards, just bind them together in a book. You can protect them in acid free goodness, while being able to read the front and back of the ephemera. Notice how Shawna loosely tied her ribbon so that there is room to open the book.

Amanda's version takes my breath away. I love how she took a photo of her dad and turned it into a heartfelt masterpiece. I love how she journaled directly on a background sheet and integrated the title too. Stitching, jewels and flowers make her layout as warm as her letter.

Kristi's artistic expression is so creative, but her letter and attached envelope were the most practical of the bunch. Who hasn't saved at least one letter and envelope? If not, I'm sure somebody in your family has. Kristi puts our brains at ease when she answered the question of HOW to display these precious heirlooms. Like Amanda, Kristi attached a photo of the writer and the recipient. If you're afraid to attach a letter to your layout, or if the letter is double sided, you can use photo corners to hold it in place. You can also glue the envelope and tuck the letter neatly inside.

I didn't want to save all of the cards my husband has given me over the years. So I cut out his handwritten part and used it as my journaling. The cardstock he wrote on was a bright white, so I chalked it pink to soften it. Hearts and swirls surround my layout like the love felt in these photos.
